Having passed through a war that threatened to shatter his hopes, he is faced with heavy challenges which he must overcome in order to get back on his feet and continue his life. In this story, we can learn and grow with him, in the face of pain and oppression and the ways we can stand up to them. The major events in the story which are told through his teenage eyes also tend to capture the plights of the contemporaries of his time.
